I love my village.
I like the place near my
house. The river Poperechnaya flows slowly and gracefully. There are very
beautiful willows on the banks of it. They make a little wood. There are a lot
of fields behind the wood. I am happy to live here.

My
favourite place in Smolenskoye is a little park near the bank of the
Poperechnaya River. One can find a lot
of things to admire there.
here are many trees: birches, poplars, firs. It’s still and calm
there. It’s like a little mystery. It is beautiful when the morning is misty. I
feel fresh air and beautiful nature there. I like to spend time in this park.

My
favourite place is Lake Komlevo. It’s big, and the water is beautiful and
clean.
It is surrounded by high grasses and tall
trees. It is not far from the road but there is no noise there. There live
pikes, crucians and pershes. I visit it very often. Usually I go there to
relax, to feel the nature and to fish. Once I get a big fish there. Koledin Artem
My
favourite place in Smolenskoye is the alley. I visit it time after time. The
poplars and birches grow along the alley.
It connects the central part of the village and the stadium where the
district competitions are held. The alley is beautiful in spring, when the
trees are covered with first green leaves, and it’s amazing in autumn, when the
leaves are yellow and brown.
In summer
a lot of young people come here to stroll along the alley, to sit on the
benches and to roller-skate. It is very romantic to visit the alley in the
evening when the weather is warm and the flowers are blooming. We have
many beautiful places in the village but I like the alley most of all.

We have a
cursed place in our village. It is always connected with some curious events.
Misfortune often happens there. Bad gossips are swirling round it. It’s the
building that is situated near the village fountain park. A lot of
organizations worked there, but some time passed and some misfortune happened
to them and the firms left for another place. Bazhenov

My favourite place in Smolenskoye is the
Victory Stadium. It is situated not far
from the centre of the village. It has a football field, three sport grounds,
and a little park. Villagers come here to play football, volleyball,
basketball, to train at the gym. In winter children skate and boys play
hockey. We have a little playground where children can swing and have fun.
There are cute flower-beds around it.I visit
the stadium every day. I come here to run and play ping-pong. I have a lot of
friends and we train there together. After training we drink tea and chat. In
summer we roller-skate on the playground.I am really lucky to visit the
stadium.

There are a lot beautiful places in our
village. One of them is the river, named the Poperechka. It is narrow and
little. Its banks are covered with grass, bushes and some trees. A hanging bridge
is over it. Everything is green in summer. The greenery is fresh and beautiful.
In winter the river is frozen and all the branches are covered with snow. The
snow melts in March and the bridge looks shabby and old. I look forward to May,
when first leaves appear and flowers start blooming. I like this bridge in
autumn, because it seems as if it were surrounded by a colourful carpet of
leaves.

There are a lot of place that are worth
seeing. There are a lot of shops around the central square. The buildings of
these shops are really old. They belonged to the merchants at the beginning of
the XX century. Their ceilings are low. The rooms are little and dark, because
of the little windows.Some
houses have been restored, and they look quite new and modern. The restored
buildings look nicer but not much. It’s possible to cover the walls with modern
decorations, but the darkness and little space still give the
impression of an old shabby building.Only the Historic Museum and the Sobolev Museum have
preserved their real faces. Anatolii Sobolev, the writer who described
Smolenskoye in his novels and stories, had lived in a little house for 7 years.
Now this place is a museum telling the story of his life.
