traditions of our school.
The history of the school.
A two –storied school
building was constructed in Smolenskoye in 1905.The headmaster of the school
was Mikhailov M.M.
After the October Revolution
the school children could attend only 4 grades; later it was turned into a 7-grades school, and, finally,
it was turned into a 10 grade school.
The modern school building
was constructed in 1969, and many prominent teachers taught and brought up
pupils there.
Besides the basic studying plan, students could
attend agricultural science, tractor-driving, dressmaking courses.
The school administration has always paid much
attention to the methodical work and to the teachers’ contests.
436 pupils
attend the school, there are 24 forms. 56 teachers work at school. The
headmaster of the school № 1 is Vladimir Neverov.
The
school building has 35 rooms, a large gym, a library, two computer classes and
laboratories. There is a computer classroom for the self-preparation where the
pupils can use the net.
The school traditions.
There
are some school traditions that have been kept for tens of years.
September, 1 is a traditional holiday "We
have become schoolchildren”, where the first-graders are welcomed.
In October ” The Autumn cross-country race” is held
and all the pupils can participate racing and
they have a great opportunity to show
not only their fitness but such qualities as friendship and team feeling .
Basketball and Volleyball competitions are regularly
held at our school.
Pupils take part in "ecological” and "labour landing”, where the kids help to clean the
river banks , the territory around the
school and to help the elder people.
One of the main
traditions is the pupils’ council that
consists of the president and some departments which take an active part in the
school life:

The educational department ( that helps pupils to get good marks)

The health
department ( that helps to follow
healthy habits)
·
The sport department ( that helps to held the sport competitions)
·
The art department (that helps to decorate the
classrooms and halls for the holidays, creates wall-papers.
The best pupils are elected to
the school council by their schoolmates every year.
During the school year pupils take part in
different subject weeks and contests.
The New Year’s school parties
are the merriest holiday of the year as pupils themselves are engaged in
scriptwriting, stage-playing and decorating the hall with self-made toys.
" Zarnitsa” is a traditional
winter contest, held in February, where
pupils compete and show their skills in skiing, sledging and playing snowballs.
The highlight of the game is eating hot porridge and drinking hot tea in the
fresh air.
The holiday, devoted to the
meeting of the school-leavers, is always touching and full of joy. Ex-pupils,
left the school 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 years ago, have a nice opportunity to meet
their class and school mates and their teachers.
In May boys and girls can participate the
contest "The Safe Wheel” that is devoted to the road safety and the skills in biking.
"The last bell” is saying "goodbye”
to the school- leavers.
In summer junior pupils have a wonderful opportunity to
have some rest in the school camp, where they can meet new friends , play
different games, participate the performances and visit cinema, libraries and museums. Senior
students can earn some money helping to repair the school- building and to work
at the plot.

1. Vasilii Neverov (1930), professor of the Altai State University.
2. Eugenie Logachev (1945), the head of the local poet society, he has published two books of his poems.
3. Elena Elyasova (1962), an artist, the exhibitions of her pictures take
place in many Russian cities.
